Financial leadership should feel like a partnership

Cardinal Clarity was built around the belief that growing organizations need more than financial reports - they need someone who understands the business behind the numbers.

We work alongside leadership to understand the people, operations, challenges, and priorities driving financial performance. That bigger-picture perspective helps turn financial information into clearer priorities, better decisions, and a path forward that actually makes sense for the organization.

Being a financial partner means being invested in more than delivering reports.

Cardinal Clarity becomes an extension of the leadership team - looking beyond the financials to understand operations, employees, customers, systems, and the other factors influencing performance.

The goal is to connect the dots, look ahead, and help leaders not only make better decisions, but successfully put those decisions into action.

Why Cardinal Clarity?

As organizations grow, the financial decisions get bigger and the moving pieces multiply. Bookkeeping and tax preparation are still important, but they don't always provide the strategic perspective leaders need.

Cardinal Clarity helps bridge that gap - connecting financial data with what's actually happening inside the organization, identifying what needs attention, coordinating with outside advisors, and helping internal teams understand what to track and why it matters.

For established organizations, that support can become especially valuable during periods of change - new leadership, outdated systems, industry shifts, compliance changes, expansion, or other moments when the old way of doing things no longer works.

Founder & Managing Director

Jessica Traw is a licensed Texas CPA with more than 15 years of experience across public accounting, private industry, nonprofit organizations, government contracting environments, and owner-led businesses.

She founded Cardinal Clarity Company to give growth-stage organizations access to CFO-level financial judgment before they are large enough to justify a full-time executive hire.

Her experience includes leading finance and accounting functions, strengthening financial processes and controls, building reporting systems, navigating audits and compliance, managing cash flow and forecasting, and supporting leadership through periods of growth and transition.

Jessica holds both a BBA and MBA with a focus in accounting and is a licensed Texas CPA.

Her background spans food and beverage and hospitality, nonprofits, government contracting, and service-based organizations. She is particularly drawn to working with leaders in professional and highly technical industries - people who are exceptional at what they do but shouldn't also be expected to be experts in finance, operations, and every other part of running a business.

Experience that goes beyond the numbers.
